Being Different is Amazing

Being Different is Amazing

Being different is amazing” isn’t a phrase we millennials are used to hearing. It’s usually the total opposite. We’re taught that being different makes us strange, or weird, but in reality- it’s what makes us freaking unique!

Your natural optimism to challenge the way others think should be embraced. The energetic nature or spiritual personality of yours should be welcomed. You standing out in a world where people try hard to fit in is what makes being different amazing.

The people who try to humiliate your difference are struggling with deeper issues. They’re insecure, jealous, angry, or afraid of someone who enjoys being different. With this understanding, you can easily pity them and not let their false remarks stop you from embracing your true nature!

  • It sparks creativity
  • You’re less stressed about fitting in
  • You view the world differently
  • It’s helpful in certain situations
  • People come to you for a different angle on things

Disadvantages of Being Different

Unfortunately, there are some disadvantages to being unique. But if you can identify these disadvantages earlier, you’ll find it easier to move through them shall they arise.

You’re a Target

In a world where people try hard to fit in, a hurt person actively targets people who stand out. They’re scared of unique people because they couldn’t imagine a life without following others. That’s why being different can make you a target.

Overcoming these people is simple when you can understand that their actions resemble fear, rejection, anger, and hurt. For this, it becomes easier to pity them- and carry on with your day.

Never allow other people’s anger stop you from embracing your true nature.

You Can Isolate Yourself

When someone is different, they might feel that isolating themselves is safer. However, this can be detrimental if it continues for prolonged periods. Unique people need alone time, definitely. But when it comes to a point of isolation, this becomes a clear indication of someone’s difference working as a disadvantage to them. So long as one remembers that “being different” shouldn’t be the ONLY cause of isolation.

People Don’t Understand You

One of the biggest obstacles unique people face is people not understanding them. On the odd occasion, they’ll meet someone who truly connects. (Usually, these people are different themselves).

However, for the most part- many people don’t understand you because you don’t follow societal norms. Remember that this is Ok because you truly don’t NEED others to understand you- as long as you understand yourself.
